Dr. Jovan Teokarevic is professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences (FPN), University of Belgrade, Serbia, since 2002. Before that he worked as research fellow at the Institute for European Studies, Belgrade (1981-2002). He is academic coordinator of the Belgrade University’s Interdisciplinary Master’s Program in South-Eastern European Studies, and head of the Faculty’s Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Balkans (CisBalk). He was founder and director of the Belgrade Centre for European Integration (2002-2010). His research interests include EU-Western Balkan relations and comparative Balkan politics. Teokarevic is currently teaching the following courses: “EU Integration and EU Enlargement”, “Comparative Politics”, “Political Systems of New Democracies”, “Political and Constitutional Systems in South-Eastern Europe”, “Transition and Consolidation of Democracy” (at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Belgrade), and also “The EU and the Balkans” and “Regional Cooperation” (at the Master program, Vienna University, Austria). He has published many books and articles and has participated at many international conferences and in numerous international and Serbian-Yugoslav research projects. He is currently President of the Governing Board of the Open Society Fund, Serbia.
