Dr Gkasis holds a BSc (Hons) from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece, having studied International and European, Economic and Political Studies, a MSc in International Business and Economic Development from The University of Reading, Henley Business School, UK, and a PhD in Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.TH.), Greece, as a Fellow Student of PENED – 2003 Grant (Program for the Reinforcement of Research Students, 2006-2009), which was funded by the Greek General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT). The PhD focused on the effect of the inflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Greek economy through the process of technological diffusion. The study contributed to the limited number of existing studies in the field of the study of FDI through technological diffusion, especially in the case of the Greek economy.
